How will this give you an edge? First, GIS-based interoperability is a feature you won’t find in other route-planning services. We expect clients to achieve tremendous operational savings by utilizing RouteSmart web services and web applications with RouteSmart for ArcGIS Pro. It is another step forward in our long-standing partnership with Esri and our shared-user community of GIS and route planning professionals.
“This is truly a unique combination of technologies that only RouteSmart can offer,” Vice President of Sales Chris Walz said. “As an Esri Gold Partner, RouteSmart Technologies has continually developed our route planning solutions over the past four decades on top of the latest and greatest Esri-based Geographic Information Systems (GIS) – the world leader in GIS solutions and software.”
Who Will Benefit from RouteSmart for ArcGIS Pro?
RouteSmart for ArcGIS Pro is designed to appeal to a wide range of clients, prospects, and stakeholders. Current RouteSmart clients seeking a GIS-based ability to modify and analyze route data using RaaS or RO will find immense value in this tool. Prospective clients, especially those with enterprise investments in Esri technology, can confidently leverage our product offerings.
When will RouteSmart for ArcGIS Pro be released?
RouteSmart for ArcGIS Pro is a free add-in from RouteSmart Technologies. For clients to take full advantage of its capabilities, they will need a subscription to RaaS or RO.
Three rounds of features have already been released. Clients can import RaaS and RO workspaces into RouteSmart for ArcGIS Pro. Clients can make edits and then export the workspace in a format that may be used in the RaaS Portal. Additional tools available include the RouteSmart Categories Manager to filter routes in the map view, RouteSmart Selection Statistics to summarize workloads by route, and the ability to quickly visualize time-critical stops on the map view.
Coming down the road in short order, direct connectivity to RO and RaaS will be available in Q3. Next up we are working to enable clients to send edited street layers from ArcGIS Pro to the RouteSmart Data Cloud for use by RO and RaaS. Also, in Q4, clients can expect the select features by street side tool and eventually call RaaS solvers from RouteSmart for ArcGIS Pro.
How will clients benefit from the transition to RouteSmart for ArcGIS Pro?

Build it and they will come!
We had several motivations for developing RouteSmart for ArcGIS Pro. We recognized the demand from our GIS-centric clients who desired access to their data for GIS manipulation, such as making maps, sharing data across enterprise GIS, and performing other GIS analyses that our web applications cannot support.
“RouteSmart Technologies has always carried the banner of the value of using GIS in support of route planning. We have traditionally competed in the route planning marketplace by using GIS technology as a differentiator and enabler. We will continue to differentiate ourselves from other route planning category players by offering a solution that is compatible with ArcGIS Pro, a platform that no one else is offering to round out the route planning experience for our clients and the industries within which they operate.” Walz said.
Whether you’re a current client looking to enhance your GIS capabilities or a prospective client seeking a comprehensive route planning solution, RouteSmart for ArcGIS Pro is designed to support your needs.
